sala4D is a team of landscape architects who have delivered high quality results in urban design and landscape architecture, in Australia, Europe, Asia and the USA. We are based in regional NSW, close to the communities we know and love and within easy commute to Sydney.
sala4D is passionate about people and understands the value of quality urban environments to communities, no matter where they are. We understand the realities of
managing tight budgets within large regional areas, where land values are lower than metropolitan areas - a key challenge for regional LGAs and land managers. We know
that mathematics is a critical design companion.
sala4D is proud to offer its team of landscape architects to projects of all sizes: Shahreen (Shah) Alford, Ali Gaunt and Xinpei Song have extensive Australian and international experience, totalling over 60 years in rethinking how places can work for the benefit of the community, and importantly, in delivering a high-value result. Our designated pragmatist, Sue, is an integral member of the team, keeping a close eye
on budgets and grammar!
In 2022, sala4D was proudly awarded an Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture award for NSW in the category of Regional Achievement as well as three Landscape
Architecture Awards, in the categories of Cultural Heritage and Tourism. This was added to in 2023 with a Landscape Architecture Award for NSW in the category of play spaces as well as a ShadeSmart award.
Together, our team has developed masterplans for numerous regional NSW towns, cities and parks; focussing on the unique qualities of each space and the values of the
community, while incorporating best practice design and engineering understanding.
We pride ourselves on delivering innovative and comprehensive community consultation as an integral part of our design process. The success of public spaces and
infrastructure rests with the connection the community feels to its inception and development.
